Volclay Waterstop RX

Features

Key Features

Waterstop-RX is a black, active bentonite/butyl-rubber based flexible strip designed to stop water infiltration through concrete construction joints. It does this by expanding upon contact with water to form a positive seal against the concrete. The key to Waterstop-RX’s effectiveness is its superior expansion properties which seals cracks and fills voids in the concrete.

Key benefits include:
Easy to Install – Waterstop-RX can be installed by one person.
Positive Seal – Waterstop-RX swells and forms a positive seal.
No Special Transition Parts – Waterstop-RX does not require special cross, corner, or “L” parts to transition from horizontal to vertical.
Safe – Waterstop-RX is non-toxic and requires no special handling.
Flexible – Waterstop-RX has excellent flexibility so it can be installed around irregular penetrations like steel H-Piles.
New-to-existing Concrete – Installs without chipping or saw-cutting existing concrete.

We offer four different sizes and profiles are available to match your specific project needs:

  • RX 101T
  • RX 102
  • RX 101 DH
  • RX 103 DH

WATERSTOP-RX Expanding Concrete Joint Waterstop is one of the most efficient and effective waterproofing products available today for preventing water penetration in concrete joints. WATERSTOP-RX is available in multiple size, shapes and configurations to match the right construction environments and conditions:

Waterstop-RX 101T - Trapezoidal shape measuring 32 x 12.7 mm, the RX-101T distributes the expansion pressures over a greater area and the reinforcing scrim provides additional product stability when concrete is placed. Best used for shotcrete applications requiring 75 mm of concrete coverage.

Waterstop-RX 102 - A half-circle (crescent) shape measuring 19 x 9.5 mm. The crescent shape of RX 102 distributes the expansive pressure more evenly reducing the risk of a blowout. Ideal for small thin areas as only requires 50mm of concrete coverage.

Waterstop-RX 101 DH - The DH stands for ‘delayed hydration’ meaning the waterstop can handle some pre-hydration prior to encapsulation making it ideal for situations where the product may be exposed to the elements for an extended period of time before encapsulation, on wet areas, hard to reach places and where replacement may be difficult. RX 101 DH is produced in a rectangular shape measuring 25 x 20 mm requiring 75 mm of concrete coverage.

Waterstop- RX 103 DH - The Delayed Hydration means the waterstop can handle some pre-hydration prior to encapsulation making it ideal for situations where the product may be exposed to the elements for an extended period of time before encapsulation, on wet areas, hard to reach places and where replacement may be difficult. RX 103 DH is produced in a rectangular shape measuring 15 x 10 mm requiring 50 mm of concrete coverage.

Applications include both vertical and horizontal non-moving concrete construction joints, new to existing concrete construction, irregular surfaces, and around through-wall penetrations, such as plumbing and utility pipes. Additionally, Waterstop-RX can seal around concrete pilings and steel H-piles passing through the slab. Waterstop-RX works in both continuous hydrostatic and intermittent hydrostatic conditions.

  • Waterstop-RX 101T and RX 101 DH require a minimum of 75 mm of concrete coverage.
  • Waterstop-RX 102 and RX 103 DH requires a minimum concrete coverage of 50 mm.
  • Waterstop-RX 101T and RX 102 should not be pre-hydrated by being subjected to submersion or remain in extended contact with water prior to encapsulation in concrete.
